lyrics
A gown black as night
Woven in patterns
With a heart cold as ice
She speaks through her threads
A needle guides her voice
There is nothing left
Only the truth remains
Her tale needs to be told
Scars run deep, her beauty unseen
Nights turn black, mornings turn blue
Screaming out, without a sound
Autumn’s best work, the burial gown
Laid to rest
On that rainy day
She descends downward
Her last good bye
No time for grieving
She’s living in the grip of fear
Tonight’s decision
A grim plan because there’s no way out
Scars run deep, her beauty unseen
Nights turn black, mornings turn blue
Screaming out, without a sound
Autumn’s best work, the burial gown
“Now you’re at peace, the pain is gone, ashes to ashes, dust to dust”
Dark clouds above, still remain
No time to waste, shes’s in fear
She fled that night, and hid away
Curled up to sleep, on her grave
There’s no way out

Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
